Winners of the TV Sports Awards 2016 announced Money raised from the TV Sports Awards 2016 helping to tackle inequality and the gender gap in Nepal

Play for Change (PFC) has been working in the Lamjung District of Nepal, a country with low human development and facing multidimensional poverty.  PFC is delivering the ‘Khelaun Khelaun’ sport for development programme to strengthen, develop and up-skill children and their communities who were devastated by the 2015 earthquakes. The programme, in its second year, has begun implementing new and innovative ways to tackle the gender gap as a response to the existing lack of equality between men and women in Nepal.  Read more here.

Winners of the TV Sports Awards 2016 Announced

Last night in Monaco saw host to the second ever TV Sports Awards (TVSA) honouring the best work in the sport media industry, including the Golden Boy best young footballer award.

The ceremony, held in the prestigious Fairmont hotel with fine food and entertainment, was presented once again by the Sky Sports News presenter Kate Abdo, and had the attendance of well-respected sports stars and legends, such as Fabio Capello, Mario Cipollini and Anne Wafula-Strike.  Read more here.

Golden Boy award 2016 to be announced at the TV Sports Awards 2016 (TVSA)

Tonight sees the annual TVSA in Monte Carlo, Monaco, which is a prestigious event to recognise the innovation and excellence in the sports media industry. In its second year the sellout event will also be paying host to the Golden Boy award.

The international Golden Boy Award, established in 2003 by the Turin Daily; Tuttosport, will be presented during the evening to recognise and award a talented young footballer under 21 years old (registered with a European club in the top division) who has best established himself in the past year.  Read more here.

Voting has opened for the TV Sports Awards 2016

It is now time to cast your votes for the outstanding individuals from the global sports media industry who will be celebrated at the TV Sports Awards (TVSA) 2016 on 24th October at the Fairmont Hotel, Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The thirty nominees, who were unveiled last month, have been shortlisted for their outstanding work across eight categories by an independent committee formed of representatives from influential and well-respected sports media partners. Alongside this is the Play for Change award to recognize a top-class athlete who is responsible for extraordinary social responsibility work. Read more here.

Nominees Announced for the 2016 TV Sports Awards

The nominees for the 2nd annual TV Sports Awards (TVSA) 2016 have been announced today. The awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the sports media industry across eight categories. The event includes a gala dinner and auction, and will be held on Monday, 24th October at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

The event, supported by SPORTELMonaco, will feature an array of sporting legends, and high profile guests from the world of sport, media and entertainment. The evening will be hosted by Kate Abdo, Sky Sports News presenter and host of the 2015 FIFA Ballon d’Or. It will also feature a live auction hosted by ex-Sotheby’s auctioneer Edward Rising. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Play for Change, a sport and education charity for vulnerable children.  Read more here.
